[Interview]

After the three days of work experience, the students returned to school the next day.

Students such as Takeuchi, the chairwoman and Risa were surrounded by their classmates, filling the void left by the three days of absence. Some of the students were chatting with their friends.

On the other hand, Nishino's seat is quiet.

After the morning greeting exercise, he went to his seat without saying a word to anyone. He puts his bag down on his desk and sits down in his chair, but no one comes to talk to him. However his classmates notice that he has something strange in his hand. It was a job information magazine, available for free in convenience stores and supermarkets.

After moving his bag to his desk, Nishino began flipping through it.

He sat down in his seat and crossed his legs in an exaggerated gesture.

A few pages into the paper, a student finally approached him. This person, who had come from the next classroom, confirmed the absence of her rival in the room and asked him with a deep smile.

15

"... What is that ?"

It was Gabriella.

Her attention was drawn to the magazine in Nishino's hand.

"It's a job information magazine."

"You're not going to start working seriously, are you?"

"Oh, I'm thinking of working part-time."

It is the season when the second year of high school begins to get colder and colder, and everyone who has witnessed this is wondering why someone who just a few days ago claimed to be going on to higher education is now working part-time. Some of them quit their part-time jobs to prepare for exams, but only a few of them start new ones.

"What about school?"

"I have free time after school, a few days a week would be fine."

"I see"

With the help of Gabu-chan, the students attention is drawn to him.

The students of Class 2A don't really want to know what's going on with Nishino, but the rebellion against him that began at the school festival has grown so strong that they can't help but notice what he's up to. It's a noise that you want to ignore, but you can't, because it enters your head through your ears.

16

It's like the scent of a stinky sock that somehow makes you want to smell it.

It's like the persistent presence of a sticker on the fridge that has been removed.

"After the recent work experience, I have been thinking a lot. In my third year of high school, I will be busy preparing for exams. I thought that there was no better time than this winter to get some part-time experience."

In fact, he has a lot of ulterior motives.

At the suggestion of Rose, he was considering a part-time job.

The days go by fast, and as soon as you turn the calendar around, Christmas is just around the corner. He is a man who wants to have a girlfriend. The proposal from the blonde Lolita was very tempting.

The virgin was looking for a chance at a part-time job.

It is a convenient excuse to say that the work experience has raised his interest.

"Today, on the way to school, I was given this. In Japan they give out strange things on the street."

Gabriella took out a pack of tissues from her skirt pocket after hearing Nishino's words. Unlike the ones on the supermarket, there is a advertisement placed on the front side, where the name of the product should be.

17

"Ah, handing out tissues on the street......."

"You will find the job information here"

They were looking for part-time workers for a new restaurant opening soon. According to the description, several restaurants will be opening at the same time in one building. From the looks of it, all the other shops in the building seem to be run by the same company.

" Are you also interested in part-time work ? "

"No, I just got it from the guy who gave it to me."

"I see"

"But if you want to do it, I'll do it."

" ...... Are you serious ?"

The Futsumen was surprised at the casual comment of Gabu-chan.

The students who had overheard the conversation between the two were naturally more aware of the comment. In particular, the boys looked at him intensely. Nishino is not the only one who dreams of meeting the opposite sex at a part-time job.

However, many of them give up without being able to put it into practice.

In this respect, his ability to start thinking about it on the same day is a great achievement.

"Is it bad ?"

18

"No, I'm not saying it's bad ... "

It is Nishino's honest opinion that he has put himself in a bad situation again. She is a silver-haired Lolita who has unilaterally murdered a client because he had touched her body when they first met.

"Have you decided where to work ?"

"No, I haven't decided yet. I haven't decided yet, but there are only a few jobs that match my attendance requirements. There are a lot of openings for full-time workers, but for a few hours after school, there are only a few."

"So, why don't you go here?"

"......"

I took the pocket tissue that Gabriella offered me.

It's a great way to get to know the people you're working with. It also said that high school students could work part-time. In addition, the company would be recruiting for several shops at once, so it was expected that they would hire a good number of people.

"....Well, it's not a bad choice ."

And once they've made up their minds, the rest is history.

If Gabu-chan joins us, we'll be in a good mood.

"Would you like to go for an interview?"

19

"Yes....."

The presence of the beautiful Gabriella is not all bad for Nishino. When men in the same position look at her, they naturally think poorly of themselves. It's a great opportunity for him.

These and other speculative calculations played out in the virgin's mind.

"Then we'll head there after school today."

"Yes, that's good."

Gabriella's casual comment surprised the students in Year 2A who had been listening in on the conversation. Gabriella had been around Nishino for a while, but no one had expected her to go so far as to offer him a job. Most of the students thought that she was just hanging out with Rose.

Eventually, a new student arrived in the classroom.

It was Rose.

The sight of her walking down the hall with her shiny blonde hair was sure to attract attention.

"Oh, Nishino-kun. What are you discussing with her?"

"We were discussing last night's job offer."

"Oh, yes, that's right."

"And I found a job that I think you'll like."

I hold out the tissue I received from Gabu-chan.

20

As a result, their classmates, who had been listening in, also felt a sense of urgency as they remembered the upcoming Holy Night. The students, both boys and girls, do not have a specific partner. Nishino's impatience is no stranger to them all.

"I think I'll go for an interview after school today."

Rose is alarmed by Nishino's casual comment. She hadn't expected him to have decided on a new job just today. She did not even have time to present her own cards. She had no choice but to follow him.

It's all due to the fact that he's a futsumen with a lot of determination and energy.

"In that case, I'd like to join you."

-In the meantime, we all decided on our after-school plans.-

◇ ◆ ◇

On the same day, after school, Nishino, Rose and Gabriella went to an interview for a part-time job, following the directions inserted in the pocket tissue. The interview was to take place in a busy shopping area not far from the nearest train station.

The top floor of a five-storey building was designated as the venue. The rest of the floor had already been taken care of by the interior decorators and was ready to be used as a shop. All that remains is to fill it with workers.

21

They were not the only ones to be seen in the area, as they had been distributing flyers on a large scale. There were also a few teenagers in their school uniforms. The number of teenagers in school uniforms was about half, along with the freelancers.

"I contacted him around noon......"

The reception desk was located just beyond the entrance to the floor.

A woman in a suit sits at a small, temporary desk and assists people who want to come in for an interview. We each gave our name and were instructed to go to the back of the floor. In her hand I see a list of names. It seems that we are going to be dealing with a lot of people.

As instructed by the woman, the three of us proceed down the floor.

The structure of the building is that of a typical multi-tenant building. After the entrance, there is a short corridor with a door in front of it, and after this, the whole floor becomes a business space. The space is about 50 or 60 square metres.

The top floor seems to be an office. The reception area was partitioned off and a row of desks could be seen behind it. There were some chairs in the corridor, and on the wall beside them was a sign saying Please wait here.

In the reception area, I could hear the sound of people being interviewed.

There are already two women in their teens or twenties sitting in the chairs. Their faces tightened at the sight of the newcomers. Their eyes are fixed on Rose and Gabriella. There is a faint sound of a young woman's voice coming from the reception area.

22

"It seems that there are many young women."

"Isn't it because there is a maid cafe on the first floor ?"

"I see."

Rose replied to Nishino's casual comment.

The three of them settled down in the three chairs that were available. It was Rose, Nishino and Gabriella. Nishino would have liked to have tried to have a conversation with the other two, but he was interrupted by the gold and silver Lolita who had already moved ahead of him.

In such situations, Rose and Gabriella work well together.

"Which restaurant are you interested in applying for?"

"The bar on the third floor."

"Then I'll go for the bar on the third floor."

"I think I'll do the same."

Rose and Gabriella's words were met with curious looks from the two first arrivals. They looked at each other as if they didn't understand. They seemed more surprised by their new rivals than by themselves.

23

After the first two had finished, it was Rose's turn.

I'm going to go, she muttered briefly, and went to the reception area. The interview would take a few minutes per person. As the aim was to recruit in large numbers, the time taken per person was short. However, in her case, she had more than enough time to talk. When she reappeared in the corridor, she seemed to be in a bad mood.

" ... What's wrong ? That face"

" No, it's just that I've been recommended to a maid cafe."

"Ah ... "

It was easy for Nishino to think of the conversation that had taken place in the reception area and wonder why it had taken so much longer than the previous two.

"I have to go."

He walked past Rose, who looked as if she wanted to say something, and went to the reception area.

Waiting for him was a man in jeans and a T-shirt. His age seemed to be around forty. His brown hair, dyed brightly, was striking. He has a deep, sculpted face and has a recognisable appearance.

24

In the reception area, where there was a sofa set, there were no other people besides Nishino and the man. The interview for the part-time job began with the usual greetings: Nice to meet you.

"I see, you want the bar on the third floor."

"I've had a lot of experience. Of course, I've also cooked in restaurants."

"......Experience?"

"Yes, in the hall, in the kitchen, whatever you need."

" Hmm ? "

"So please, can I get a job here?"

In the past, Nishino has dressed up as a chef for the sake of his day job. It is highly doubtful that he has ever worked in a restaurant before. However, this particular futsumen was trying his best to meet people at his part-time job. His background is naturally impressive.

However, he made a mistake early on in his life.

I don't think it's possible to begin to talk to an older person in a casual way."

" ... I'm sorry."

And then he got a quick rejection.

The intensity of his feelings about his part-time job was boiling up in his consciousness. His tone of voice naturally became more forceful, and the interviewer's opinion of him was not good. The man looked at Nishino with a bored expression on his face and said simply.

25

"Interview is over. You're not hired, so you can leave."

"....."

If he had been about the same age as the man interviewing him, he might have been tolerated. If he had been a strong, middle-aged man, he might have been considered positively for his imposing bearing.

But he was a student, and he was a man with a thin, spindly figure.

From the start of the interview, Nishino was immediately rejected.

◇ ◆ ◇

After the interview, Rose waited for Nishino to return from the corridor. After the interview, Rose waited in the corridor for Nishino to return. He was back in just a few minutes, his expression uncertain.

"....What's wrong?"

Gabriella heads for the interview in place of Nishino.

26

As he watched her back, he responded with a mutter.

"I failed the interview. Apparently I've been rejected."

" ......"

This left Rose speechless, as she had not expected to be informed of the rejection at the interview. In addition to allowing time for the selection process, most part-time jobs are advertised by phone or email as a courtesy to applicants.

"Well, I suppose it could happen."

"How did it go with you?"

"I was told that I was hiring on the spot, ut I don't know what to do.... "

If she didn't work in the same place as Nishino, there was no point in working for her.

Apart from her true feelings, this was also based on a promise shared between the two of them beforehand that she would support Nishino in his love life.

They heard a voice from the reception area.

"Oh, wait a minute ! Wait, wait !"

This is the voice of the man who was in charge of the interview. You can see that he is in a state of panic, even if you can hear his voice. The volume of the voice was so high that the content of the conversation, which until now had only been a muffled echo, could be clearly heard all the way down the corridor. All the people present naturally turned their attention to the source of the voice.

27

At the same time, Gabriella returned from the reception area.

"Well, that was quick."

"What's the point of having an interview if he's not going to get the job?"

Apparently, the man in charge of the interview had told her that Nishino had not been selected. With a bored expression on her face, Gabu-chan tried to explain the reason without hesitation. Her mind was already far away from her part-time job at the same place.

"This is no good. Let's find another place to work."

Just then, the man in charge of the interview emerged from the reception area.

He came rolling down the corridor.

"All right, all right, I want you to wait!"

The man stares at Rose and Gabriella and speaks loudly. I could see the impatience in his expression.

"Let's hire him! So please, come back!"

The interviewer pointed at Nishino in an exaggerated manner and raised his voice.

28

"......What's going on?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, you'll have to come back with me. We need to interview you again."

".........."

Nishino's gaze went back and forth between Gabriella and the man.

It seemed that he had some problems after his interview with her.

◇ ◆ ◇

For a brown-haired man, there is nothing more disconcerting than the sight of a harem of men. As a male, it is a sight that inspires pride. But the fact is that the girls were happy with the arrangement.

If they hadn't, Rose and Gabriella would have had a fight.

Much to their displeasure, the man in charge of the interview decided to let them talk.

"I mean, you guys don't want to work unless you're working with him."

29

"Of course. You are not in financial trouble, are you?"

Gabriella nodded without hesitation in response to the man's words.

I can't think of a good way to say it, considering how close I've been to Nishino lately. But Gabu-chan was a great help.

It's useful sometimes, she says, still hiding her love for him.

"Miss Rose, you're friends with them too, aren't you?"

"Yes, well, they're schoolmates who attended the same school."

" Oh, I see. So that's how it is."

This made the man impatient. This is because the person in charge of the interview wanted to make sure that Rose and Gabriella could get the job at all costs. They have a lovely, un-Japanese appearance, and if they were to stand in the front, she would certainly be popular. The maid cafe is scheduled to open on the ground floor of the same building. The brown-haired man was convinced that the presence of the two girls would be a major driving force if they were to succeed. That's why he couldn't let them go at this moment.

However, the two girls were not happy without Nishino.

This is the man who, just a few minutes ago, unilaterally rejected his application.

30

This had changed the dynamics of the scene.

"I was told that I was rejected ......"

After all this time, the futsumen tries to give a polite answer.

This touched a nerve in the man.

But this time, he couldn't kick him out.

"No, no, I'd be happy to discuss it again......."

With a twitch between his eyebrows, the man said to Nishino.

He had been to dozens, if not hundreds, of job interviews in his career. But this was the first time he had experienced anything like this. As a person who hires people, he has a certain amount of experience and pride in his work, so this is not as frustrating as it sounds.

"Having said that, I'd like to work in the bar on the third floor myself."

No matter how inferior Nishino's communication skills are, he understands that the person in front of him is looking for Rose and Gabriella in a maid café. His own goal, on the other hand, is to interact with the opposite sex, which is fostered by his part-time job in a bar.

"Kitchen work in a maid café is not much different from that in a bar, is it? No, it's much easier than in a bar. And the pay is better than working in a bar. Why don't you and your friends take the opportunity to work in a maid cafe?"

"No, but......"

31

A young man with a strange obsession with working in a bar.

The man in charge of the interview was particularly annoyed by his behaviour. Why do you want to work in a bar so badly? Of course you're going to be shunned by everyone and quit in less than a month, aren't you? I wanted to scream. It took all my mental strength not to let this happen.

"There are lots of cute girls in maid cafes, so it's a lot more fun than working in a bar surrounded by men, don't you think? Not interested in that? We spend a lot more money on recruiting girls than most places, so I'm sure you can expect a lot more."

"......."

As it turned out, the man's words hit Nishino where it hurts.

It was a brilliant blow.

"Are there many men in bars?"

"Our bar is not a fashionable, it's for the masses, so when we recruit, it's mostly men who apply. We do have some girls, but not that many, and when they do come in, they leave quickly. Girls have better opportunities elsewhere."

"...... I see."

"That's the reason why I wouldn't recommend it to you two."

From a casual question, the man in charge of the interview understood Nishino's ulterior motive.

Die, you little shit. He continues with his words, exasperation building in his chest.

32

"What do you think? A maid café kitchen?"

"Oh, well, as they say, experience makes perfect, so let me be in charge of the maid café!"

"Yes, yes! That's why we'd love to have you guys!"

With a cramped smile, the man told the two girls his real intentions.

Worst of all, let the little bastard wash dishes and glasses endlessly in the corner of the kitchen. While thinking about this, in his mind he was considering a promotional campaign for the opening of a new maid café that would push the presence of Rose and Gabriella to the forefront.
